For those who do not know what a scientific theory is allow me to explain: A theory is an explanation of a set of related observations or events based upon proven hypotheses and verified multiple times. In general, both a scientific theory and a scientific law are accepted to be true by the scientific community as a whole. Both are used to make predictions of events. The biggest difference between a law and a theory is that a theory is much more complex and dynamic. A law governs a single action, whereas a theory explains a whole series of related phenomena.
Creationism does not stand up to any part of the definition of a scientific theory. So the word theory being used to describe creationism is the common vernacular usage which is not correct in any way. Creationism can be described as an idea, belief, even a hypothesis, but not a theory. As for it being a hypothesis, there has been no data supporting it, and it directly contradicts the theory which is generally accepted.
Anyone who believes that education should include beliefs and ideas along with scientific theories lacks a proper education themselves or does not mind corrupting the youth of this country by sending them the message that science and belief structures hold the same value. Some liberals thought that there should be no wrong answers on tests because getting questions wrong makes kids feel bad. Now the right has responded, by saying your answer is incorrect only if you do not believe it to be correct. If Noah had a education like this, he would have never been able to create an ark that worked.
